Woman with backpack in an alley between branded recruiter, legal, education, and medical murals

Every recruit deserves to walk in knowing, not guessing.

The Warrior Collective was founded by Ty Stebbins, a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran with 22 years of combined service who worked with well over 2,500 students who went into the military. This publication exists to give future service members the field manual Ty never had, honest, recruiter-free answers to every question about enlisting in the U.S. military.

The Warrior Collective exists so no recruit has to face the biggest decision of their life guessing.

Why trust this content? Ty Stebbins served 22 years in the Army and Air Force. He has seen enlisting from both sides of the desk, served on multiple deployments, and worked with well over 2,500 students who went into the military. No quota. No branch to sell. Just honest answers, so you walk in knowing, not guessing.

The
Charter

Every year, hundreds of thousands of young Americans walk into a recruiting office and make the most consequential decision of their lives, often with the least amount of unbiased information.

Recruiters, MEPS, even people who've served all know the road, and it's hard to ask the right questions when you don't know what you don't know. So a lot of people say no out of fear, and others say yes blind and end up in a job they never wanted.

We are not here to talk you into joining. We are not here to talk you out of it. We are here to give you the field manual nobody ever handed you: the questions to ask, the realities to consider, the voices of those who have walked the path before you.

Through The Dispatch newsletter and the Before Basic Training podcast, we publish honest field reports from veterans, recruiters, parents, drill instructors, and the young people navigating this decision in real time.

Know your path. Ship ready.

About The Warrior Collective

The Warrior Collective is the resource I wish I had before I joined the military, and the one I wish my young troops had before they showed up at basic training.

I spent 22 years in the Army and Air Force. I’ve seen what happens when someone walks into this prepared, and what happens when they don’t. The difference isn’t talent or toughness. It’s information.

What still gets me is that the process of joining hasn’t changed much in decades. The paperwork looks the same. The uncertainty feels the same. And yet most young men and women are still navigating one of the biggest decisions of their lives with Reddit threads, secondhand advice, and whatever a recruiter has time to tell them.

That’s not good enough.

Signing that contract at 17, 18, or 19 years old is a bigger decision than most people acknowledge. You’re committing years of your life. You’re asking your family to commit alongside you. That deserves more than guesswork.

Every person considering military service deserves the full picture before they decide, not after.

That’s what we’re building here.

Welcome to the collective. 🇺🇸👊
