DD 4
Enlistment / Reenlistment Document
DD Form 4 is the enlistment contract. It specifies your branch, component, length of active service, MOS/AFSC/Rate, enlistment bonus (if any), and other guarantees. Verbal recruiter promises do not survive once you sign. If it isn't written in the DD 4 or its annexes, it is not binding. Read every line before signing. This document is your legal protection.
