POGs

POG is a gently pejorative term (sometimes not so gentle) used by combat arms soldiers and Marines to describe everyone not in a direct combat role. The term reflects the infantry-centric culture of the Army and Marine Corps. In reality, the military cannot function without the logistics, medical, communications, and administrative specialists POGs describes, but the rivalry is culturally ingrained.
