JAG
Judge Advocate General
The JAG Corps provides legal services to service members and their families: wills, powers of attorney, tax assistance, consumer protection, and legal assistance before deployment. Before shipping, many recruits visit a JAG office (or a legal assistance office at MEPS) to prepare basic legal documents. JAG officers also prosecute and defend cases under the UCMJ.
